I started with MSEL as the Project Manager for the European Union-funded FORCE (Future of Reefs in a Changing Environment project in 2010. I have since become the Research Support Officer for the lab. I am responsible for the daily running and management of the lab. I support the PhD students and postdocs on HR, finance and other activities.
I have worked within conservation for approximately fifteen years. With an MSc in Environment and Development Education from South Bank University, London, I have been involved in various environmental education roles including being a volunteer with the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, UK and in a consultancy with the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System Project. I also worked for environmental non-government organisations in Belize such as the Belize Centre for Environmental Studies and the Belize Audubon Society for six years which has been one of the best learning experiences. Working for non-government organisations meant you filled many roles and I worked as a resource centre manager, grant writer and project manager.
